Lindsay Lindsey lived at a familiar address—part of the Lindsey estate.

“This could be her,” Rosie said. “Age seems about right.”

I was already dialing the phone number I saw.

“Hello?” a voice answered.

“Elle?” I said. “It’s Tiffany Black.”

“Oh. Hey.” She sounded confused.

I nodded to Rosie. Got her.

“Hey, I was hoping you could do me a favor. I know that Tammy C is leaving town pretty soon—”

“Going back to Salt Lake City,” Elle said.

“Salt Lake City,” I said to Rosie. “Not SoCal.”

“What about her?” Elle asked.

“We need to interview her before she goes,” I said.

“Oh. Okay. Um, I can’t talk right now. Can I meet you? Do you know Atomic?” she said.

The dive bar was near the Atomic Museum, a place documenting the nuclear test site not far from Las Vegas. “I know it.”

“Half an hour,” she said and disconnected.

“Okay, I’m going to run her again, this time on the laptop. Salt Lake City, Tamsin, Tammy C, Evander Duval, some of these developments,” Rosie said.

“Good. Let the machine churn. We’re meeting Elle,” I said.

Stone sat on the couch petting Snowflake. “Well, since you two started drinking, I’d better do the driving.”
